All of these units have been designed from the ground up by Garmin to be the best marine specific handheld units available. Many of the features of these units is the same, such as: a built-in quadrifilar antenna for superior reception, high resolution (except for GPS 72) back-lit displays, and increased internal memory. They provide large number and graphic navigation screens, all easily accessible through Garmin's user friendly operating system. They are also WAAS capable. Mariners encountering heavy fog on a trip will appreciate the WAAS accuracy in navigating their way home. Audible alarms are available for indicating anchor drag, off-course, arrival, and proximity to a waypoint. Their trip computers provide odometer, stopped time, moving average, overall average, total time, max speed and more. They all have automatic track logs and celestial tables for best time to hunt and fish, and sun and moon rise and set times. U.S. tide data is included in memory.
