GPS 73 and GPSMAP 78 / 78s / 78sc Common Features

These units have been designed from the ground up by Garmin to be the best marine specific handheld units available. Many of the features of these units are the same, such as: a built-in high sensitivity antennas for superior reception, even in canyon situations or with heavy tree canopies, high resolution back-lit displays, and increased internal memory. They provide many graphic navigation screens, all easily accessible through Garmin’s user friendly operating system. Audible alarms are available for indicating anchor drag, off-course, arrival, and proximity to a waypoint. Their trip computers provide odometer, stopped time, moving average, overall average, total time, max speed and more. They all have automatic track logs and celestial tables for best time to hunt and fish, and sun and moon rise and set times. U.S. tide data is included in memory.

Their cases are completely waterproof, and will float. Weight of each unit is 7.7 ounces with batteries (not included). All units come with a USB interface cable, wrist strap, and Quick Start guide.
