This monumental reference work commonly referred to as “Bowditch” has been continuously updated since it was first published in 1802.  During the last 215 years over 76 editions, or a million copies have been published.  This new Edition covers the latest advances in electronic navigation and digital charting technology through the year 2017. It also covers traditional navigation like celestial navigation, piloting and dead reckoning which has not been superceded by the later edition.  Bowditch contains numerous tables which have been valued for years by practicing navigators.

The new edition has been published in three beautifully bound hard cover editions:

Volume 1 Contains textual material relating to all forms of navigation in practice, as in previous edtions. HC, 2017, 760 pages, size 8 1/2 x 11 in., SW 5 lbs.

Volume 2 Contains all tabular data previously published in earlier editions.  There is little if any change to these tables.  It is expected that for student exam purposes, that volume 2 may be admitted into the exam room, while volume 1 or the Complete edition may not. HC, 2017 454 pages, SW 3 lbs.

Complete Edition includes both Volumes together in this “complete” edition.  HC 2017, SW 7 lbs.
